My siblings called they want a pasalubong from me when i get home to davao. They don’t want krispy kreme donuts, brownies unlimited or burger king either, they want a Sbarro pizza.

Sbarro

When I’m in NCR i would never skip dining at my all time favorite pizza the Sbarro, fresh italian cooking. They are all over metro manila, in cebu and iloilo. So i had my way taking LRT 2 purple line then drop off at Araneta, Cubao Station to search for sbarro, which i’ve heard we would pass by 3 to 4 malls before reaching to Ali Mall where Sbarro is situated. Ali Mall is the Philippines oldest mall since 1976 it is named after the famous boxer Mohammad Ali.

Burgoo American Bar and Restaurant, Greenhills Shopping Center Promenade, San Juan City

Everytime I go to metro manila, I’ve never missed visiting my favorite shopping mall, the Greenhills Shopping Center, been here looking for the best bargains of class A bags, clothes, shoes, perfume and watches. After done shopping spree at greenhills me and my fiance will able to meet our friend who just reside at a condo nearer the place.

Just think of it, the restaurant is just as the same concept as TGIF, Italiannis, Flapjacks and Chili’s. In our locals it’s just like Coco’s Bar and Grill and Rolando’s Restaurant.

At that time , Burgoo took all of 20-30 hours to prepare and cook . Our version is somewhat similar except now it cooks faster than the original using top choice of beef, pork and poultry . We guarantee you to the top quality of this extra ordinary dish. To see is to believe. Order it and enjoy!

California Pizza Kitchen, Greenbelt 5, Makati City

Almost an hour or more roaming around Greenbelt Mall in Makati City, sitting on the bench to relax our tired feet, it was dinner time and we’re craving on Pizza, so we get around Greenbelt 5 and i’ve notice on the 2nd level that there’s a pizza restaurant on it, the name of the restaurant is California Pizza Kitchen.

California Pizza Kitchen

As a pizza enthusiast as what I’ve heard that this pizza restaurant started out in Beverly Hills, California in USA on March 27, 1985, attorneys Rick Rosenfield and Larry Flax traded in the courtroom for the dining room. It was in 1998 when California Pizza Kitchen opened in the Philippines, making it as the first restaurant branch to operate outside the United States. Global Restaurant Concepts Incorporated (GRCI), the exclusive franchisee of CPK in the Philippines, brought the world-famous gourmet pizza brand to Glorietta Mall in Makati City and introduced its diverse products and unique dining culture to the Filipinos. The phenomenal opening of CPK Glorietta led to the establishment of other CPK stores in the key parts of Metro Manila: Alabang Town Center, Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Greenhills Promenade, Trinoma and the Powerplant Mall in Rockwell.

Today, California Pizza Kitchen is one of the most respected and recognized casual dining restaurants in the Philippines.

Greenbelt, Makati City

I attended a seminar and workshop in Sta. Mesa, Manila, meantime I took an opportunity to extend more of my staying due to the long weekend holiday on the last week of August last month.

Greenbelt

I’m glad to have a fit or convenient time to do a window shopping at the Greenbelt in Makati City. What does window shopping means?  it means to look at merchandise in store windows or showcases without making purchases. Why do i don’t make purchases? due to expensive and jaw dropping merchandise and items that the store sells.

Greenbelt

Greenbelt is an Ayala Malls, the one who gave Davao City Abreeza.  Due to my friend which previously visited there. I was curious of the place I want to see the stores that sells branded stuff items.  Greenbelt 4 and 5 was the place to be, a raw of High End stores and shops for the likes of Prada, Gucci, BVLGARI, Salvatore Ferragamo, Emporio Armani, Burberry, DKNY, Louis Vuitton, Hermes and many more.

Greenbelt Makati

Greenbelt is the country’s first Premier Lifestyle Center. In the middle of a bustling metropolis, Greenbelt is an enclave of all things beautiful. A three-hectare park punctuated by cascading landscapes and carefully chosen water features re-imagines the typical mall. With a roster of prominent and world-class retailers, restaurateurs and entertainment operators, it defines the premier Ayala Mall experience.

Max’s Restaurant, 2nd Floor Abreeza Ayala Malls, Davao City

Max’s Restaurant is famous with a tagline “The House That Fried Chicken Built”. I’ve known a little bit of history of this restaurant in davao they put up a branch in SM City Davao way back 2001 when SM City Davao is newly opened. I remember Max’s Restaurant was a classy and elegant restaurant at SM which the place was presently occupied today by Rai-Rai ken and Pritong Manok. I also remember the former Max’s Restaurant has it’s branch at Gaisano Mall of Davao which i’ve heard owned by one of the politicians here in davao, which now the place was presently occupied today by Gerry’s Grill. Sadly Max’s Restaurants in Davao died down in a matter of years.

Max's Restaurant Abreeza Ayala Malls

When Abreeza Mall opens last May 12, 2011, to my surprise Max’s Restaurant is back in Davao. It has opened it’s doors again for davaoeños to taste their great and best tasting foods and their specialty fried chicken. For me I’ve been to Max’s Restaurant in Manila and Luzon. I’ve been dining in their stores in Tutuban Mall Divisoria, Manila, in SM North Edsa branch and in Subic, Olongapo City.

A Little bit of history, way back 1945 fresh from the Liberation of Japanese invaders. Maximo Gimenez, a Stanford – educated teacher, befriended the American occupation troops stationed at Quezon City. Because of this friendship, the soldiers regularly visited Maximo. This prompted Maximo to open a cafá where the troops could enjoy food and drinks. The cafá initially served chicken, steak and drinks. Maximo’s niece – Ruby, who managed the kitchen, created a special recipe for chicken that became an instant favorite for the GIs. Soon, the Filipino public heard about the delicious chicken – tender, juicy and crispy – and they came too! Max’s Restaurant was born.

Teriyaki Boy, Level 2 Abreeza Ayala Malls, Davao City

In abreeza mall there are so many restaurants specialized in Japanese Cuisine, there are Rai-Rai Ken, Tsuru, Red Kimono, soon to open Sumo Sam by marvin agustin and Teriyaki Boy. I’m not really fond of japanese foods but i like them specially Katsudon since I always ordered this one at the Yurushi Japanese Restaurant nearer from my work place at Ramon Magsaysay Ave., Davao City, it was owned by a pure japanese citizen married to a filipina wife.

Teriyaki Boy

I’m so glad one famous restaurant finally opened here in Davao City last May 14, 2011 the name is Teriyaki Boy. They had branches from Tokyo, Osaka, Manila, Luzon, Cebu, Cdo and Now here in Davao. I never forget their one and only funny commercial way back in 2006 with a not so funny angry mascot.

Anyway since teriyaki boy opened in davao we never get a chance to dine in at their restaurant on a few weeks after the opening date, the place was always jampacked, lots of people came in and waiting in line seated outside the resto. Last weekend were able to dine with this casual dining japanese restaurant.
