Browsing my pictures at my notebook.. I eventually looking at my palawan adventure for this blog at wordpress. Going to palawan for the convention, getting here is so expensive, if your from davao we rode on the plane twice via cebu pacific then a stop over at Mactan International Airport, since it was summer of 2008 our flight was delayed but cebu pacific provided us breakfast at Davao International Airport and Lunch at Mactan International Airport. The delayed was the influx of more passengers want to go to palawan or other tourist destination in our country.. in fact my sister was with me at the time but my flight was fully booked so she headed for another flight but instead stopping over to cebu, she’s headed to manila… since its summer in the philippines more passengers are on the rush especially some airline companies is offering some free hotels and roundtrip tickets at any destination in exchange for your ticket to delay instead you travel today you can travel tommorow…whew thats a nice offer…

- Puerto Princesa Airport
Landing to Puerto Princesa Airport at that time the airport is under renovation thier airport just like Old Davao International Airport before it’s small… after getting our luggage we fetch by a Van then headed to our apartelle hotel…

- The Apartelle/hotel we stayed
then my sister called to fetch her to the airport since the van is not available i fetch her thru a tricycle.. the mode of transportation in puerto princesa city, she called again and said to get a taxi nearby the airport then later on she learned as I said there were none taxi’s running around here that makes her wonder what kind of city is this?

- Stop over at buenavista, Palawan with my sister
Anyway back to our puerto princesa adventure the next day going to subterranean river or as we called the Underground River is a 2 hour ride by a van its an 80 kilometer stretch.. when were there it is rainy and the wave is strong.. but still were going to sail going to the famous subterranean river… the boat with the capacity of 5 and the wind and wave is as high as our boat, scary, but with mind prayers and bravery we overcome our fear.. we made it..

- Going to Subterranean River (Underground River)

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is located about 80 kilometers north of the city of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines. The National Park is located in the Saint Paul Mountain Range on the northern coast of the island. It is bordered by St. Paul Bay to the north and the Babuyan River to the east. The City Government of Puerto Princesa has managed the National Park since 1992. It is also known as St. Paul’s Subterranean River National Park, or St. Paul Underground River. The entrance to the Subterranean River is a short hike from the town of Sabang. Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park has been nominated for the “New Seven Wonders of Nature” competition…. Me and my sister was amazed of rock formation, seen there are the giant candle, the nose, the cathedral like church, a virgin mary, the face of Jesus Christ and some funny thing noted by our boat tour rider the formation called Sharon they mean sharon stone coz of the sexiest formation of the back of nude woman.. LOL… Then our way back to sabang town wind and wave still with us.. we nevermind coz we were amazed by the mountain limestone formation sourrounded by us… amazing…

- Puerto Princesa City Coliseum
The next day was a convention registration and briefing at the Puerto Princesa City Coliseum, the huge modern city coliseum with a capacity of 8,000 people and fully airconditioned.

- The speaker
Puerto Princesa City is a first class city is the only major urban sprawl in Palawan, with 120,000 residents and an area that actually makes it the second- biggest city in the Philippines after Davao. Puerto Princesa is also clean, green and gun-free, thanks partly to local mayor Edward Hagedorn, a larger-than-life character who has firmly nailed his flag to the environmental mast. Residents and visitors alike are fined for spitting and littering. Throwing your cigarette butt on the pavement brings swift justice in the form of a P200 fine, a small fortune to many locals and therefore a significant deterrent.

Mitra’s Ranch
In the city tour we visited the crocodile farms, the iwahig prison you can buy souvenirs there like key chains, bags, lamp shades at cheap prices, the blue roman catholic cathedral, the mitra’s ranch, the bakers hill where you can buy thier famous hopia and other specialties,

- Baker’s Hill
to wrap up your adventure, island hopping at honda bay visit the beaches on snake island, pandan island, starfish island and the world class dos palmas resort… Palawan is one my best destination. In my 5 day stay here i enjoyed a lot and the food is excellent… hope to be back again soon…

Been to National Capital Region many times for leisure, shopping, malling and riding MRT or LRT, one my favorite mode of transportation especially during rush hours but this time again I had a seminar and workshop at COA-PDC (Commission on Audit – Professional Development Center) in Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City… It’s my 3rd time to attend the seminar. The place was a bit far when you ride a taxi from SM Mall of Asia it is charged at 250 pesos on metered aircon taxi. The place is nearer to SM North Edsa and Trinoma a jeepney fare of 12.50 pesos per person. Also nearer to Fairview it is also a part of Quezon City also a jeepney fare from COA is still 12.50 pesos. The place is accessible also to Buses and FX’s as a mode of transportation, going to quiapo, cubao, makati, mall of asia and also to NAIA airport is no problem coz buses are available, speaking of buses be careful and aware coz some bus conductors overprice the fare if they will know or notice if your from the province or not, in our experience as a group travelling from COA to Araneta Center in Cubao they charge us 40 pesos in which it is only 28 pesos said a woman who sitted beside me who is also a bisaya and she’s speaking a visayan dialect, but we never complain since we’re not born or raised in this very populated place in the philippines… In shopping to Greenhills Shopping Center, San Juan City travel by bus which has a signboard going to cubao then make a stop at Gate 5, it is along Edsa, the marker is before camp crame and the road sandwich between Gasoline Stations Caltex and Petron, then a jeep terminal there which will take you to Greenhills shopping center the fare is only 7.00 pesos. The first time I attended on COA Seminar was in June 2007 on Laws and Rules on Government Expenditures, the 2nd in December 2007 on Property and Supply Management Seminar and this month August 2009 the Cash Management and Control System… I’m happy that I learned more, ive gained some additional knowledge and im enjoying.. i’m glad the coordinators is more improving… thats a plus with them…

The Luneta Park

Seen Here is the Manila Hotel
Just across the intramuros, the busy part of ermita, the famous Luneta Park where lies the tomb of our national hero Jose P. Rizal, the Kilometer 0 starts here and across Roxas Blvd the Quirino Grandstand which at the back was the famous Manila Ocean Park… The luneta park is one of the tourist spot visited by many foreigners, tourist and also known, popular abroad.. In saturdays, sundays and holidays the park is crowded.. Luckily i visited this park on Friday so there are few people and isn’t not crowded… At the Rizal Monument there are 4 guards randomly assigned for standing and guarding the tomb of our national Hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal. Thier work is not easy, the dirt, rain, the sun encountered them every single day. For comparison, i want to compare this park to our very own People’s Park in davao… well truly our peoples park is a winner for cleanliness, maintenance, security and safety although luneta park was wide and big this is also historical since our national hero died here thru firing squad of the spaniards forces and also it is the oldest park since the spanish era. Anyway been here thrice but nothing had change and improved.

- Open Garden Area at Davao Eagle Ridge
Last May 20 – 22, 2009 I attended the reunion of our clan the ACUB – VELEZ 2nd Grand Reunion at Davao Eagle Ridge Resort, Upper Ulas, Catalunan Pequeno, Davao City. It was fun there coz all of my cousins, uncle and aunties are there to attend this reunion with the velez clan from cagayan de oro city and part of misamis oriental.. The 3 day reunion starts with the welcoming of the visitors on the 1st day, on the 2nd day is the grand reunion which the mass started at carmelites church in bajada, officiated with my cousin the newly ordained priest Fr. Gil Casio, then the reunion proper started after lunch til the wee hours in the evening. and at the 3rd day of reunion i wasnt able to attend coz of my line of work in the office…the next reunion will be held at cagayan de oro city next year. Talking about the place the Davao Eagle Ridge Resort the ambiance its fine it has the club house with four airconditioned rooms, it has a conference room the next building it is a two storey which can accomadate about a hundred people, they also have an open area which our reunion held there and of course the swimming pool with an airconditioned room beside which one of our relatives slept there…. anyway the resort is not complete as of now some rooms are under construction.. they don’t have restaurants but they serve breakfast and caterings by request…. all the enjoyment for the kids is the swimming pool area.. hope this resort will improve soon… here attached the pictures of the resorts and our reunions…

Thier wide array of mouthwatering desserts just taste as good to be true. Thier buffet rates is only 299.00 pesos.
3. Cafe Marco at Marco Polo Davao – Buffet at one of the luxurious hotel in davao is one of unforgettable experience although i’ve been dine here many times or so, but the food here is great and internationally set by section from japanese, korean, european, chinese and even they serve filipino dishes like kare kare and adobo hmm interesting? they also have a grilling and cooking section there where fresh seafoods and meat they cook want the way it had to be cooked by the top rated chef of the marco. They also had a huge dessert section. Dining and eating at the cafe marco is fine and elegant as the buffet here is 788 pesos at lunch and 888 pesos at dinner.

The Biggest Burger in Davao City, Philippines
04 Aug 2009 1 Comment
- Al’s Diner
It’s a huge burger in davao city only found in Al’s Diner at Ponciano Reyes St., before the NCCC Express Store. The place atmosphere and design is inspired by some diner restaurants in america.. the sounds is great reminincing the earth, wind and fire, bee gees, kool and the gang etc.. if you know that stuff from the 70′s and 80′s. The owner is a british citizen and has good thing to do with schools here in davao coz every burger you order and purchase some percent of the income benefits the school who doesnt have a computer and some materials they needed.. hmmm… just like a foundation a good idea to exempt this establishment to tax… by the way the food there is great aside from the giant burger they also have a giant fries and drinks, they serve a lot of sundae’s and dessert for refreshments and its soooo yummy.. and for those don’t want burgers they have an alternate filipino dishes like adobong manok, pork humba and others which it serve with rice.. and by the way if you go there make sure that your tummy is empty or your so much hungry coz the burger is big.. malay natin ikaw ang maging winner ng fastest eating burger in town so your burger will be free.
