Last april was the high graduation of my 2nd degree cousin kakay, we want to treat and celebrate with her parents on her graduation day. There are two alternatives where we celebrate either at the Jack Ridge or at the D’Japanese Tunnel Restuarant, since the road going to Jack Ridge that time is so Slippery because of the melting candles from the devotees during holy week, then we decided to celebrate it to D’Japanese tunnel, i considered this location nearer in our place in GSIS, Matina, Davao City.
D’Japanese Tunnel is one of the most historical landmarks in davao city, the place is the tourist attration of itself because of the 300 meters or more tunnel constructed during the World War II Japanese era 1942.
Today the tunnel is guided by the installed lighting, that will be led by the tourist guide to several steps where you will see the various weaponry, water banker, and offices of the Japanese soldiers. Also, there are several chapels there, including one where a copy of the Golden Buddha can be seen. As you go deeper into the Japanese Tunnel, you will come upon vintage machine guns, bombs, explosives and plenty of ammo and bullets at an entrance fee of 50 pesos per person. The owners also turn the place into family resort , they built a restaurant, a swimming pool and a 9 rooms hotel as of the time we visited the place has a 3 storey hotel room is under construction. This make a place a very friendly and a nice location itself.
At the D’Japanese Tunnel Restaurant they serve Chinese, Filipino Cuisine and Western Steaks there’s also a Japanese food available. Theres a lot of food you can choose from at affordable prices, thier price range based from the menu is from 100 to 350 pesos per servings.
Overall the food is great, i had a fun time dining celebrate it with my family and relatives.

If your planning to conquer and visit some tourist spots in manila, one spot you should not missed, the Intramuros, Manila, just a kilometer walk away from the Luneta Park.
For me it’s my first time to toured intramuros, i’ve heard a lot in this place, I remember it was taught in my history class in my elementary days that it was built by the Spaniards in the 16th century it served as the center of political, military and religious power of the Spaniards during the time that the Philippines was a colony of Spain. Today it was converted into historical landmark, a place to walk, with some fountains and monuments, also a place for some photo shoot for weddings or some pre nuptial pictures since they have a nice gardens which is truly romantic. I also notice the guards with thier spanish uniformed guardia civil.
Seen sightings of the some establishment surrounding intramuros are are the comelec, the manila cathedral, the pamantasan ng lungsod ng maynila (University of City of Manila) and the Department of Labor. Anyway me and my siblings enjoyed touring this historical spots in Manila, we’ve even gone to the place where Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz shoot their movie Miss You Like Crazy…
A little trivia, The name, in Latin, Intramuros literally “within the walls”, meaning within the wall enclosure of the city/fortress, also describes its structure as it is surrounded by thick, high walls and moats.
