After a nice and unforgettable reunion its time to go home to Davao City. So on the 3rd day we’re getting up early and take some breakfast at the house of our accomodating uncle where we staying in overnight after our activity in Dela Mar Resort in Iligan City. It’s in our itinerary to visit the place the shrine of the Divine Mercy.
Divine Mercy Shrine is at City of El Salvador at Misamis Oriental, its only 30 minutes away from Cagayan De Oro City. Upon arriving there hopping off on our van we’ve notice a bunch of children selling different kind of colored candles for 25 pesos each, in which according to them every color of the candle has a meaning Green candle symbolizes for good health, white for peace, red for love of God and yellow for your wish. Before we enter some rules has to be observed, an attire like spagetti, sando or short is not allowed but there’s a remedy on it. They will give you something to wear a garterized cloth to cover your shorts and a silk blouse to cover your spagetti straps or sando.
We nevermind the sweat, exhaustion and the heat as we to climb a hundred steps stairs to the top. When reaching there we were amazed of the 50 foot huge statue of Jesus Christ or the Divine Mercy facing at the sea of misamis oriental. Just like a huge statue of Jesus Christ in Brazil as seen of some movies, but this one is different and very clean.
We reach some more stairs to the praying room at the side of the Huge Statue of Divine Mercy, then headed to the miraculous water which they believe can cure the illness of the sick and heal the soul either you can drink it or put it in with your empty bottled mineral water. Then a few meters away to light the candle.
It’s a nice memorable blessed experience, whenever i visit misamis oriental i will come back to this place.

It’s the 2nd day of our velez-acub reunion and it will be held at Timoga Cold Springs in Iligan City, Timoga Cold Springs is located at Brgy. Buru-un just 9 kilometers in Iligan City proper. There are 5 cold springs in the area and only one source, the Maria Cristina Falls, the famous waterfalls and tourist spots in the Philippines.
One of 5 cold springs just located in the highway the popular one is Dela Mar Resort just beside the Macapagal Ancestral House, Entrance fee of this resort is only 50 pesos per person. Upon entering the resort you notice a swimming pool area but don’t be discourage it was one of the many swimming pools in the area then my cousins tell us to climb the stairs coz we reserved a cottage on the top, we climb step by step until we reach at the top of the resort and upon reaching there I was really facinated by thier large olympic size pool that has a 4 to 5 feet deep, a pool area for diving in which it has a deep of 16 feet, there’s also a kiddie pool area for 1 – 3 years old and a children pool complete with slides and flowing water.
The place was very refreshing and the water is so cold, since its saturday one of the organizers of our reunion said we should came here early as 7:00 am, since we reserve some cottages we expect that any hour in a day the place will get crowded, and by 11:00 am the place was crowded while i’m snapping some pictures in it.
Anyway our reunion went well and memorable, but on the afternoon something unfortunate incident happened but the situation is controllable.

Last May 2010 we’re attending the 3rd Grand Reunion of our Velez-Acub clan at Misamis Oriental, where all excited for this trip, with my siblings and cousins we hired a luxurious van for free the Toyota Hi Ace Super Grandia with captain seats and TV video, nice van.
While traversing the highways of bukidnon, my cousin would like to visit the famous Monastery of the Transfiguration in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, for me i heard about this place which is build by the benedictine monks and where one of the famous personalities of a political clan from davao city had thier wedding held there, so it’s a nice thing to visit and explore the place.
From the highway to the chapel it takes us maybe 5 to 7 minutes to get there, and when we where there i was amazed of the pyramid shape form of a roof structure and that was the chapel itself. The place was solemn, clean, the air is cold, a really nice place for meditation. There’s a prayer room, where mostly travelers came over this place to pray.
After praying a few meters from the chapel is the store and a souvenir shop, where they sell various figurines, rosaries, bibles, prayer books, tshirts and foods like the Monks Peanut butter, piniato, roasted peanuts and thier famous Monks blend coffee.
The Monastery is truly an ideal place for group spiritual activity such as retreats and recollections.

It’s lunch time once again, my officemates wanting to have a nice and delicious food we want to taste. It’s up to me where to decide, i want something new, im tired of all eat all you can stuff you know, but not at this time, I read some comments on my blog to try this restaurant.
The place is Coco’s South Bistro, home of the Pizza, Pasta and Steaks. For what i had read in thier menu it is Food for the soul and Wine for the spirit. It’s located on Torres St., right beside Davao Convention and Trade Center. The owner of this place is same as the owner of Probinsya, Buffet Palace and Davao Convention Center.
If you play or a fan of the most popular game in Facebook the Cafe World, this restaurant is your place to be, thier arrangement, the billboard, the poster, the wide screen tv and the decorations hmmm similar of what i had played in cafe world, its looks like a real scale model to me… The waiter and waitress are alert and quick if you call them… I like the ambiance of this place.
The food i’m suprised it’s really affordable, for the appetizer must try is thier Ceasar Salad and Seafood Salad for only 185 pesos, if you like pizza my favorites is American and Wild West Pizza for only 240 and 275 respectively, for pasta i tasted thier Coco’s Carbonara forgot the price of it, also tried thier famous Coco’s Baby Back Ribs for 225 pesos and the Rodeo Champ and Ribeye Steaks at 295 pesos.
We had a great lunch at this place, They also had a newest branch at Victoria Plaza near the buffet palace in which later on a week i tried to dine in that place in which the ambiance is much quieter and not so much crowded but the menu and the food still the same at torres branch.
