Last friday we wanted to taste the new pizza parlor at Gaisano Mall of Davao one of the few who makes giant’s pizza the Calda Pizza, upon reaching to our destination at Gaisano Mall i couldn’t find the entrance Calda Pizza inside the vicinity of the mall, so i go to the information desk center and ask, then the information lady tells us the entrance was outside just beside the pizza hut, well, we’re out of the mall upon reaching Calda Pizza the place was full and crowded, you know people in davao city when there’s new they patronized it. Since we’re eager to eat pizza we decided to eat beside Calda’s, the Pizza Hut, we entered there coz we taught it wasn’t much more people but the aircon was off.. so we go downstairs and suprised that all aircons was turned on and almost full of people there, i notice that this is a part of thier business strategy to turn some pizza fanatics to come pizza hut since thier counterpart calda was crowded.
Anyway i’m a fan of pizza hut and i really love thier pizza, i tasted all thier pizza wayback since the opening of the 1st Pizza Hut Restaurant in 2001 at SM City Davao, i heard there’s something new pizza here and i wanted it to taste it the unbelievably sinful Star Pops Pizza! An exiting duo of 16 pullable sausage pops and pizza and dip it in a free cheedar dip.
Star Pops Pizza is available in eight different flavors, Supreme, Bacon Supreme, Hawaiian Supreme, Bacon Cheeseburger, Veggies Lovers, Super Supreme, Meat Lovers and Deluxe Cheese. In two sizes Family and Supreme. I ordered a regular supreme Star Pops and a Seafood Supremo Pasta, Isn’t that great? I love this place coz pizza and pasta go perfectly together. I billed just 770.oo pesos including the drinks.

When in rains it will pours, this what happened to Davao City now… Pouring on more investments from biggest foreign and local companies, so it happens constructions here, there and everywhere… but most buildings, malls, condominiums constructions are concentrated in the North Davao particularly in Bajada area, so let’s keep us updated what’s going on… so here’s my list of major major upcoming developments in davao city.
Abreeza Mall – jointly owned by the Ayala Land and Anflocor of the Florendo’s, the site was in J.P. Laurel Avenue, Bajada, Davao City right in front of Redemptorist Church and Davao Light Transmission Center. It’s a mall with BPO (Business Processing Office) and soon to rise the upcoming hotel and condominium. The mall supermarket and department store are Robinson’s, future tenant are Starbucks, Mark and Spencer, Sbarro, Xoxo, and more…Target completion date in 3rd Quarter of 2011.
SM City Davao Ecoland Expansion and Renovation - it’s true SM City Davao is Expanding at the parking area left side of the mall if your facing SM and planning to renovate the current SM City Davao Mall inside and outside. The expansion will be 4 levels and it has 170 shops 3rd and 4th will be the BPO. The parking area will extend at the vacant area at the back of the mall, cementing of parking are starts this september and the construction of the extension of sm will be in January 2011 and opened on December 2011.
SM City Lanang – located in the former Lanang Golf Country Club, in J.P. Laurel Avenue, Lanang, it was bought by SM somewhere in 2008 from the Dacudao’s. A 4 Level mall will house SM Hypermarket and the first in Mindanao the Imax Theatre… Aside from the mall future developments in the area are the condominiums, BPO Offices and townhouse owned by SM Group of Companies. The mall will be opened on 1st Quarter of 2012.
“The next trend here will definitely be high-rise. This (Aeon) will be the first and definitely one of the biggest,” Mr. Cruz said in a recent interview.
And in order to showcase the creativity and skill of Davaoeños, Mr. Cruz said he made it a point to hire the project’s designers, suppliers and workers from the local work force.
This is not the first property venture of Mr. Cruz’s company.
FTC Tower, an eight-level building on Mt. Apo St. here, hosts commercial spaces on the first floor, doctor’s spaces in the middle floors and the Green Windows dormitory on the top floors.
From the original plan of 45 floors, Aeon Towers was scaled down to just 30 floors, plus five levels underground.
This, after the Air Transport Office (ATO) warned that the location was along a regular flight route to the airport.
To be located right next to the Ayala Abreeza complex on J.P. Laurel Ave. in Bajada district, Aeon Towers will be nearly double the current tallest structure in the city, the 18-storey Marco Polo Hotel at the city’s downtown.
Other developers also have major plans, including Ayala Land’s 26-storey Abreeza Residences.
FTC does not consider Abreeza Residences a direct competitor though, Mr. Cruz said.
“We learned that [Ayala] was already planning a condo when we started our own. The family thought what kind of condo they would build. We realized they are into upper middle-class market, so either we have it low-end or high-end,” he explained.
In a speech delivered for Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio during the soft opening of the Aeon Towers showroom last month, Jason C. Magnaye, chief of the Davao City Investment Promotions Center said, “We are extremely proud that amid all these real estate giants, a local company has been changing the game, proving that one reason Davao is able to compete with the rest of the country is… because talented Dabawenyos are able to compete with the best of them.”
Conceptualized by Manila-based architect Dennis J. Litonjua, Aeon Towers will use fiber-optic technology to hot-wire the whole building into one control facility.
“I’m very privileged to have worked with the FTC group’s new generation of leaders who are very aggressive, creative and articulate and, with this line of thought [sic], it’s very easy for me to come up with a design that will reflect Davaoeños ideas of this kind of building,” he said.
In designing Aeon Towers, Mr. Litonjua said he used his experience from having worked with Hyatt Sanctuary Cove in Australia and Novotel Inn in Singapore.
“This building is equipped with smart home technology so you can monitor your unit using your iPhones, iPads or laptop computers,” Mr. Litonjua said.
With this wireless technology, condo owners will be able to have full control of their environment with the touch-screen wireless controller.
They can dim the lights, turn on the air-conditioner, draw curtains, play their favorite music, adjust water temperature, control door access with different sets of password for family members, or see who is knocking outside with the video door phone.
Mr. Cruz added that the building’s sky deck will have an infinity pool along with a good view of Samal Island, an open grill restaurant, souvenir shop, a multipurpose hall, and garden deck.
