Last sunday after attending the mass at St. Joseph church, we had a plan of going to Abreeza, Ayala Mall again to have lunch and wan’t to try another new restaurant opened by Bistro Group of Restaurant Concept. On a saturday I’ve tried having lunch T.G.I. Friday’s and on sunday wanna try to have lunch on their another restaurant specialized in authentic Italian dishes, the name of the place is Italianni’s Restaurant.
I’ve heard this restaurant before while i’m in manila, it was one of Actress/ Host Icon Kris Aquino’s favorite. Now they’re putting up their 15th stores in Abreeza Mall, Davao City, it’s first in Vismin Area.
When we were there a friendly hospitable hostess caught our attention, they know that we’re interested to dine in, a lot of diners were in line and we were 5th in line. While waiting for the tables to be vacant inside, outside the waiting area the hostess handed us the menu so we can plan which orders we can take and then they serving us a complimentary ripe mango drinks courtesy of italianni’s.
Five minutes later an attendant came to us, introduce herself in a generous way that she will serving us and the table is available for us. Then we place our orders, we ordered their pasta specialty Shrimp Fra Diablo at 450.00, the main house specialties Parmesan Crusted Fish Fillet at 395.00 and Herb Roasted Spring Chicken at 450.00.
The place was a good, comfy, an inviting italian atmosphere, feels like your an Italy, that it will give me a unique, exceptional dining experience. They also have a small VIP room which is good for 15 person. Every meal starts with the complimentary freshly baked focaccia and Tuscan bread served with olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar.
15 minutes our dishes arrived, the main house specialty food is very good, the pasta was excellent, I really love it. Two thumbs up…
Herb Roasted Spring Chicken is their specialty it is made of Roasted half chicken with Italian herbs, Italian stle gravy, sauteed vegetables and a choice of garlic rice or mashed potato.
Parmesan Crusted Fish Fillet is also one of their specialty it is made of White Fish Fellet coated with Parmesan Cheese, served with caper cream sauce, mashed potatoes and buttered vegetables.
Shrimp Fra Diablo their pasta Specialty it is made of Fettuccine pasta sauteed with shrimps, garlic, pine nuts, spinach, asparagus and feta cheese in a pomodoro cream sauce.
After a very satisfied meal, I billed 1,622.50 including the two drinks that worth 90.00 each and the 10% service fee. It’s too pricey but it’s worth it. I heard that their pizza was very delicious maybe I will try it next time. After we settled our bill, the hostess came to us and gave us card for a free pasta on our next visit, this is great… thanks to the attendant vanessa…

We’re at the newest mall ever hit in Davao City, thanks to Zobel de Ayala’s for having an Ayala Mall in Davao. I am the one among of the thousands of crowd during the soft opening last May 12, 2011 and i will be posting my pictures here in my blog real soon.
On May 18, 2011 was the opening of the two new restaurants concept in davao at Abreeza Mall the T.G.I. Friday’s and Italiannis. It was owned by Bistro Group of Restaurant Concepts, some of the restaurant they owned was Fish and Co. , Pig Out, the new Krazy Garlik, Flapjacks and BillyRock Bar and Restaurant.
Bistro group restaurants is not new to me, I featured them in my previous blog, last 2009 i blog Billy Rock Bar and Restaurant along Shangrila, link, http://vinz8000.wordpress.com/2009/08/17/billy-rock-bar-and-restaurant-shangri-la-plaza/, In 2010 I blog about Flapjacks in Greenhills Shopping Center, link, http://vinz8000.wordpress.com/2010/04/30/flapjacks-greenhills-shopping-center-complex-san-juan-city/ .
Today’s blog it’s all about T.G.I. Fridays, a little bit of history T.G.I. Fridays began operation in 1994, with the opening of TGI Friday’s, the very first American casual dining chain in the Philippines and finally it’s here in Davao City.
The restaurant was located at Ground Floor in Abreeza Mall, We were there last saturday on lunchtime, luckily there are vacant table available for us and the waiter quickly handed us the menu, it was an festive atmosphere, inside there are a life size sculpture of Superman, outside there was an life size sculpture of marilyn monroe, mini size statue of liberty and the moonman armstrong, truly its an american inspired theme on a american dining restaurant. I’ve heard that their menu prices are adjusted lower for davao city.
We ordered their best seller Jack Daniel’s Glazed Ribs at 495.00 and a must try Jack Daniel’s Salmon at 595.00. We also ordered soup of a day at 95.00 and their best seller smoothies the Gold Medalist at 165.00 each.
I understand it was in their soft opening while i waited for my orders to arrive, i’m observing some waiter and waitress are so panicky and they are not so organized when taking orders with customers, some orders has been delayed, coz they are not listening to our food orders well. Finally our orders arrived by 30 minutes it took too long but I understand the situation coz there are a lot of diners in this place.
The food was excellent, the taste was very good, very sumptuous meal and I really love it, perfect and the bill is pricey at 1,666.61 pesos for two net with 10% service charge.

The soft opening of the new Abreeza Ayala Malls gave us so much traffic in Bajada Area. So going to buhangin is such a hassle, i only know the shortcut was passing through Barrio Obrero area, so we turn left at McDonalds Victoria Plaza which the name of the street is Lacson where bunch of restaurant sprawling in that area like Palovince, Papa Chings Restaurant and the pizza parlor that opened November last year Barrio Bistro.
Barrio Bistro offers Buy 1 take 1 Pizza everyday from 2:00 P.M. till 12:00 midnight. So we drop by there to taste their pizza specialty. I was surprised that their pizza was so cheap the prices ranging from 240.00 to 330.00 pesos and it’s a buy 1 take 1. They also serve pasta from 120.00 to 130.00 pesos, They offer all day breakfast at 120.oo and Bistro Meals from 140.00 to 150.00.
I ordered their specialty Barrio Pizza, take 1 the Pizza Overload and i want to taste their Carbonara. The good thing of this restaurant is that if you cant consume the pizza’s coz you’re already full you can take out the pizza. The first pizza arrived by 15 minutes ohhh it’s fast, and 10 minutes later the pizza overload came.
Every bite of the pizza i love the sound of the crust its so crunchy. The pizza was crunchy and tasty. Carbonara is good. The place is cozy but small.
Barrio Bistro is located at Lacson St., Barrio Obrero, Davao City, they had a telephone number 222-3366. The place is also Wifi Free.

When i’m going to matina i’ll always pass this avenue. I notice some new restaurant sprawling in the place just beside sampaguita tourist hotel and one had caught my attention, another new pizza restaurant branch putting up in this city of Davao. I’m talking about Handuraw Pizza Cafe at E. Quirino Ave., Davao City.
Handuraw is the Cebuano word for “the power to imagine.” Which makes all their pizzas very unique, a true Filipino creation that tastes awesome. It has been known as Cebu’s #1 Pizza Brand coz it was originated in Cebu.
We arrived in the place at 2pm just to avail their Buy 1 take 1 pizza which is from 2 pm to 5 pm for dine in customers only. The place was cozy and comfortable. I like the design of their curve ceiling.
Browsing through the menu i notice that their pizza’s are affordable prices ranging from 238.00 to 308.00 pesos. They also have pasta from 88.00 – 109.00 pesos, pica bowl from 58.00 to 138.00 pesos, soup from 58.oo to 88.00 and rice bowl from 65.oo to 168.00 pesos.
To taste how good is their pizza I ordered their specialty Handuraw Special and take 1 the Roasted Garlic and Cheese. Since we are the only customers around at that time the 1st pizza was serve by 15 minutes.
Overall their thin crust pizza is good, crispy and great. I recommend this place just to chill out start your own delicious destiny! together with friends and family for a superb pizza experience.
